Contact
Whether you have questions about existing compositions, wish to discuss commissioning a new work, need score samples for programming consideration, or simply want to share feedback about performances, communication is welcome and encouraged.
Commission Inquiries
For those interested in commissioning original works, initial consultations help determine if a commission is right for your situation and begin the conversation about your artistic vision. There is no obligation associated with initial discussions.
When reaching out about commissions, helpful information includes:
- Ensemble type and instrumentation
- Desired work duration
- Technical level of performers
- Timeline for completion
- Occasion or purpose of the commission
- Any thematic or programmatic preferences
- Budget considerations
Even if you're just beginning to consider a commission and don't have all details finalized, feel free to start the conversation. The commissioning process is collaborative, and early discussion helps refine ideas and expectations.
Score Perusal Requests
Band directors, ensemble leaders, and performers considering programming works from the catalog can request perusal scores at no charge. Perusal materials include full scores and sample parts, allowing thorough evaluation before purchase decisions.
When requesting perusal scores, please provide:
- Specific work(s) you wish to review
- Your ensemble type and institution (if applicable)
- Tentative performance timeline
- Preference for digital or physical perusal materials
Perusal scores are typically provided within 1-3 business days for digital formats or 5-10 days for physical scores.
Performance Questions
Musicians preparing performances of these works are encouraged to reach out with interpretive questions, technical clarifications, or requests for composer input. Questions about tempo, phrasing, dynamics, articulation, and other performance practice matters are always welcome.
According to Music Teachers National Association, direct communication with living composers enhances understanding of their works and often results in more authentic, meaningful performances.
When possible, attending rehearsals and performances of commissioned works or works receiving significant performances is preferred. If your ensemble is performing music from this catalog and would welcome composer attendance, please extend an invitationāschedule permitting, attending performances is always a privilege and pleasure.
General Correspondence
General questions, comments, or feedback about compositions are welcome. Whether you have questions about specific works, want to share recordings of your performances, or simply wish to discuss contemporary wind band repertoire, all correspondence receives personal attention.
Score and Recording Submissions

When submitting recordings, please include:
- Ensemble name and location
- Performance date and venue
- Conductor/director name
- Permission to share the recording publicly (if desired)
- Any program notes or performance context you'd like included

Educational visit possibilities include:
- Composer residencies (2-5 days)
- Single-day clinics or workshops
- Masterclasses for composition or music theory students
